The Meyer lab in the Biochemistry Department at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a postdoctoral scholar with experience or interest in one or more of the following:

  1. mass spectrometry
  2. proteomics
  3. metabolomics
  4. machine learning
  5. bioinformatics
  6. related areas
  7. mammalian tissue culture 


Postdocs will gain experience in the above areas of their choosing, and will also gain expertise in other skills:

  6. mentoring

I would love to hear your project ideas, but some ongoing work in the lab relates to applications of my recently developed ultra fast proteomics method called FIA-MAP. This technique allows quantification of up to 500 proteins in only 2-3 minutes of data collection per sample. The motivation for this method is to collect large volumes of proteomic profiles quickly for use with machine learning and deep learning methods to predict biological behaviors. 


Competitive candidates will have experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • data analysis with python and/or R
  • mammalian tissue culture
  • bacterial/yeast culture
  • sample preparation for mass spectrometry
  • experience operating liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instruments
  • machine learning with scikit-learn (sklearn), keras/tensorflow, pytorch, fastai
  • website building and maintenance
