Imperial College London

The NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) aims to screen and monitor patients in the surgical and hospital medical environments using multiple spectroscopic platforms to enhance clinical decision making. Our research integrates conventional clinical diagnostic information and chemical pathology with advanced omics-based measurement and biomarker discovery technology. By applying multi-omics approaches and phenotyping the patient journey – that is, measuring an integrated set of physical, chemical, physiological, and clinical features that define individuality – we can provide new information to inform patient stratification, diagnostics and prognostics. The overarching Section of Bioanalytical Chemistry supports this goal through the development and application of analytical technologies and methods for systems biology research.
