The Biochemistry Team is seeking a talented mass spectrometrist to build and lead our internal discovery capabilities. The successful candidate will establish affinity selection mass spectrometry (ASMS) as a key platform for evaluating novel target druggability and execute hit identification campaigns to launch drug discovery programs. He/she will also combine a knowledge of enzymology and proteomics to build core capabilities in covalent fragment based drug discovery. This highly visible position will contribute to global drug discovery programs across the portfolio to establish a center of technical and scientific expertise at the newly-launched Boston research site.

Specific Responsibilities:

Develop ASMS and covalently modified protein quantitation workflows in a collaborative, highly dynamic, and cross-matrixed environment. Focus on incorporating the latest technologies and techniques to enable the cutting-edge synergy of protein sciences and mass spectrometry in the service of drug discovery.
Collaborate on the building and deployment of an informatics ecosystem to enable the robust systemization of MS-based screening and analytical data. Design and implement laboratory automation to increase quality and throughput of screening campaigns, hit characterization, and mechanism-of-action studies.
Serve as a repository of expertise in guiding Servier global discovery bioanalytical strategies

Skills and Education:

BS/MS with 7+ years or Ph.D. with 2+ years experience in drug discovery in an industrial setting
Deep expertise in high-resolution mass spectroscopy and chromatographic assay development along with a passion for exploring novel technologies and combining them in creative ways
Experience with relevant mass spectrometry protein-centric software tools promoting the development of complex workflows, analyses and reports (eg. OpenMS, MassLynx). Programming knowledge in KNIME, Pipeline Pilot, or other data processing environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with enzyme kinetics and protein sciences, and/or proteomics will be looked upon favourably.
Excellent team player with strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written; demonstrates enthusiasm, motivation, and attention to detail. Strong multi-tasking, time management, record keeping, and organizational skills.
