Two-year Postdoc Position in Clinical Omics Data Integration
 This is an opportunity to join the Systems Medicine Research Group at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC).

About the Systems Medicine Research Group
The Systems Medicine research group is headed by a research manager and currently involves ten scientists. We lead and are partners in consortia focusing on the development of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and diabetic complications in brain, liver, and gut metabolism. We specialize in the human metabolome, lipidome and proteome to design tests for clinical decision-making (personalized medicine) and to discover novel mechanisms to target in disease. 

About the Project
Position is divided into two steps, where in the first year you will support ongoing projects within metabolomics data processing and multiomics integration. Last two years will be dedicated to diabetes complication, namely neuropathy, where we aim to set up a standardized data analysis for clinical application and personalized medicine through development of a new software. Joining our group, you will become a central part of research project, where we will focus on biomarkers development for prediction of distal symmetrical polyneuropathy in type 1 diabetes. Through this translational project you will be able to influence real-life diagnostics applied to patients at Steno Diabetes Center.

The Position
You are expected to lead and contribute to dissemination of results. You will work with a quality mindset for creating reproducible research for the benefit of the patient. You will be able to supervise and manage projects. You will take responsibility in maintaining and developing pipelines for high-throughput data analysis. We are looking for a candidate with:

Expertise in omics data integration and programming in R and/or Python 
Proven record of lead-author publications in the field of genomics, metabolomics, or proteomics
Experience in developing and publishing computational tools to analyze data in clinical science
PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or another relevant field
Knowledge of Neo4j platform is highly appreciated
